About Brett

Brett Petersen, based in the Bay of Plenty, brings a wealth of experience to Kiwi Fertiliser. While recently retired, Brett remains available for consultations when needed, offering invaluable expertise in soil fertility and sustainable farming practices.

Professional Experience

  • International Farming: Several years in Australia working with wheat, cereals, linseed, cotton, and tobacco.

  • New Zealand Agriculture: Extensive experience in mixed cropping, dairying, and horticulture including kiwifruit, berry fruit, avocado, and flower cultivation.

  • Government Sector: Worked with the Valuation Department and Department of Maori Affairs.

  • Maori Trust Farms: Managed large trust farms, developing marginal land into productive dairy farms and crop land.

  • Organic Farming: Successfully grew tamarillos and passionfruit using organic methods.

  • Certification: Served as an OANZ (Organics Aotearoa New Zealand) inspector.
